I bought this while living with a heavy smoker, It really did filter out the smoke smell, before I bought this I could walk in and right out of the house and smell like i smoked myself. After I bought this air purifier, you could not smell the smoke at all.

I appreciate it's small footprint and reasonable price. I use it in my small office space and my client's comments suggest to me that it is effective.

I live in a neighborhood fraught with ragweed and people who heat with inefficient woodstoves. I bought both the Tiger Air Cleaner (because it was on clearance on another site) And "The Bedroom Machine" endorsed by the National Sleep Foundation. I put the bedroom machine in my livingroom and shortly the whole downstairs smelled fresh and clean and it was easier to breath.I set up the Tiger in my bedroom with the door shut and when I went to bed the air smelled staler than before and I woke up with worse allergies than I went to bed with. Same the next night. I switched to the bedroom machine. It is loud so I turned it on high before I went to bed and turned it on low when sleeping. Allergies better, amazing. To give the Tiger a chance in a few nights I switched again and spent the night hacking and the whole next day hoarse with allergies. I switched to the Bedroom machine and then back to the Tiger and same thing. The tiger may have a low profile, but, for me, it didn't work and certainly did not make the air smell fresher. When I bought it I did not realize it had an ionizer. Read up on ionizers. Many scientists think they are dangerous, even the ones that don't produce ozone. A hint is that the directions say if you put the Tiger too close to a wall it will stain the wall. What? When is Amazon going to have a no str rating? That is what I would give this thing if I could. I didn't buy it on Amazon, but I thought it my duty to warn allergy sufferers. I love the Bedroom machine so far. It is noisy on high, but once you run it on high for awhile you can turn it to low, which is fine for sleeping. It makes your whole house smell clean and not the chemically clean.Stay away from "the Tiger." No wonder it was on clearance.
