4Feature-laden and Rather Accurate  Jan 14, 2010
By David Tinsley "hillbiker"
I'm a recreational runner. This 2010 Accelerator has some unique features. First, without using GPS, it will rather accurately measures your distance and speed -- and without the little thingie attached to your shoe! Doing a few 5K and 10K runs, it's accurate with 5-10/100ths of a mile. In fact, the watch has a walk setting and a run setting, and you can do both, and it will still record very close to the correct distance.
The screens are rather intuitive- just press the Esc/Light button to get to any screen, then cycle through the screens with the two buttons on the right. Finally, you select what you want with the Mode button. What you cannot figure out, just call the 800 number and an employee will quickly and cheerfully talk you through what you need.
If you just walk for fitness, or like to go out running in new terrain, and want to know your distance (and your speed + lots of other information), for the price, this watch cannot be beat.

3Ok for the price  Aug 14, 2010
By Souperdave "souperdave"
I wanted a very basic watch to track lap times for my exercise runs and 10Ks. I was intrigued by the watch's accelerometer to measure distance. But mostly, I wanted something simple with a very clear display. I've had the watch for a little over a month and so far, it's just average. The display is REALLY hard to read when you're running since it's a bubble instead of a flat screen. And it's plastic so it can fog up. Not really happy about that. And the menu is very non-intuitive so you have to do more button pushes than normal just to move between the Time and Chrono features. All in all, I regret not buying a simpler Timex Ironman but I'm ok with this watch for the price ($48)

5Great Product  Dec 06, 2010

Great product. Researched all watches like this and found this one with the best quality and price. Calibrated it and very easy to use and accurate. Was exactly what I wanted and is easy to program and use. Would recommend this product to anyone wanting to track their walk/run mileage.

5Tech 4.0 Accelerator Fitness Watch  Mar 28, 2011
By Michael
Great purchase! I ordered this watch while deployed to Iraq and it arrived in less than 10 days! I was amazed at how simple the transaction was, considering the vast distance the item had to travel. This item is extremely intuitive and is a decent looking exercise watch too! I have put this watch through many, many miles and it has performed greatly!

2Disappointing!! Glare on Domed Crystal Makes the Watch Very Hard to Read.  Sep 22, 2010
By Jonathan Horn
I bought this watch primarily for its pedometer function -- both for running and for walking around town. I can't really comment on its functionality because I find the display very poorly designed. At most angles, both outdoors and indoors, under bright light and under more diffuse light (e.g., an overcast day), there is an enormous amount of glare on the watch crystal -- making the display hard to read. I find I have to continuously rotate my wrist to try to find an angle that minimizes the glare. I assume this glare is the result of their using a "domed" crystal -- and perhaps choosing a material for that crystal that adds to, rather than minimizes the glare.

I understand the watch is inexpensive (I paid just over $40); but both Timex and Casio (among others) don't seem to have a problem making their digital displays legible in watches at this price range.

I've had the watch for a couple of days -- I'm still deciding whether or not to live with this annoying drawback.
