Mini rec Oct 04, 2008
By rcuksu I like the recorder but the description fails to mention that a ac/dc connection line can not be found. I even called the manufacture and was informed they did not have one. I went every where but no success. The wattage is not listed on the recorder so you can not but one from your local electronic store. Suggest you buy a AA battery charger as you are going to need it. I was irritated that after I complained to Amazon the price dropped $10.00.

Good recorder that includes external mic for better recording and tape counter Oct 07, 2011
By George's View A reviewer complained that a power adapter was not included - none of the competitors include one either, and they are available if needed - see one of the universal adapters on Amazon that includes a 3 volt DC output - the papers with the recorder say the adapter should be rated at 200 mA (milliamps) or more. Most of the universal adapters will be rated much higher than that 200 mA, which is fine; that just indicates that they could handle a much greater load than this produces. One I saw listed on Amazon is overkill, but would work: Hosa ACD477 AC 100-240V Multi Voltage DC Adaptor There are 2 tapes included not one. The included clip-on mic is cheap, as you might imagine, but it gives better recordings than the built-in mic, which picks up the motor noise and tape noise as do all the competitors I've heard. The built in mic is as good as the all other microcassette recorders I've heard, but the external mic gives better sound quality than all of the recorders' built-in mics that I've heard (including the Olympus S-711). The tape counter is a very useful feature that the Olympus S-711 doesn't have. I've used this recorder (RCA RP3538R) for several hours of recording and playback and haven't needed new batteries yet. I gave it only four stars because I haven't used it long enough yet to say much about reliability. So far it seems great overall.

Item Works as Expected, Good Quality and Inexpensive May 11, 2009
By W. Dabaja The recorder is good and inexpensive. It does whats its supposed to do, which is all I ask. I would have given it 5 stars, but the tapes included should have been longer.

disappointed Jan 30, 2012
By surprise me These recorders are made very poorly. I ordered six and I have 2 that don't work already. I understand that this type of recorder is no longer being made. Everything is going digital which explains why I had a hard time finding them in the stores.

RCA Micro-Cassette Recorder Dec 18, 2011
By Bubbie-Pat Bought to replace a 20 year old Panasonic. Had lots of recorded tapes and could not access them. Also have a dozen new tapes that I was unable to use. Have recorded already and listed to prerecorded tapes. Light weight and fits in bottom of my purse. Very hand item. Have recommended to family and friends.
