Highly recomended Jun 07, 2007
By R. West This is by far the best headset that I have ever used, and I have used plenty! The sound quality is great on both ends of the call. You can hear callers very clearly, with no loss of sound. In fact callers sound better to me on my head set than on my phone. The calling party will also appreciate the voice quality that is captured, I have been asked by several people what phone I'm using because the sounds is so clear. Wind noise is completely eliminated except in the most extreme situations. I can drive down the road with the top down and windows rolled down without a problem.
I have tried just about every other headset out there, including 4 different Bluetooth headsets. The sound quality does not even compare. BLUETOOTH MIGHT BE SEXY, but if you want a product that works and delivers outstanding sound quality then this is the headset for you. If you're looking for a headset/status symbol then keep on looking, but please don't call me on it :-)

Excellent mic wind resistance, poor headphone Jun 05, 2008
By Jeff I've been searching for a good headset for a while and thought I'd give this one a try. I generally liked the Plantronics MX150 and wanted to give this one a shot.
Mic clarity:
Overall, the sound was quiet, but clear. Resistance to wind noises was exceptional. Driving around in a convertible did not affect voice pickup quality too adversely. However, the sound volume grew slowly worse with time over a ~6 month period. In the end, the sound pickup just was too faint to use.
Earpiece clarity:
This was a major issue with this headset. The speaker was just not powerful enough, even with the phone volume turned all the way up with multiple phones. In addition, the sound is highly directional, requiring lots of adjustment to position it. It also wiggles out of place very easily.
Overall comfort:
Even after extensive use, the wide design of the piece that goes into your ear is painful after ~30 minutes. This is obviously not going to be an issue if you don't use the headset that long. The headset also tends to tilt away from your face (dependent on head shape) such that it requires frequent adjustment.
Durability:
Mine effectively became useless after ~6 months as the mic stopped picking up sound. Overall, an interesting idea with less than ideal execution. I with they would use the windsmart boom with a more comfortable and better performing earpiece ala MX150.

Get the MX505-X1 instead Jun 26, 2007
By A. Schick This one does not have a button to start/end calls while the X1 does. However, the product description is not clear on this. If your phone supports the headset button feature, I strongly recommend the X1 version, which often is the same price or less (at least it was when I bought it).
Other than that it has great sound quality and is durable. Some may not find it all that comfortable owing to the rigid plastic ear piece that slightly enters your ear canal, but it does not bother me.

Best Headset Ever! Jan 11, 2007
By Jan-micahel

Excellent sound, comfort and flexible configuration to boot! Works on home cordless phones or mobile phones! Bluetooth maybe wireless but they still can't match the sound quality of an excellent wired headset like this one.
If you want to hear and be heard loud and clear with minimal ambient noise, get this headset. Plantronics scored big with this design. I'm gonna get the xbox 360 version of this fine, durable headset.

The King of Headsets Jan 09, 2007
By J. Brereton Great item. Windsmart boom is perfect, not a spec of wind noise. Blow directly into it and still nothing. Amazing fit, I've worn it 8 hours straight without an earache.
