Paladin All in One Crimper Oct 10, 2007
By V. Jordan I've purchased a number of Paladin tools over the years and have found their products to be synonymous with high quality. This all in one crimper was no exception. It is well built, has a heavy set of jaws to ensure a good solid crimp and nice length handles which enable the operator to use little effort to complete the crimping. I purchased this tool to crimp RJ-45 connectors primarily. I was pleasantly surprised to see the ease at which I was able to complete the crimping procedure from the wire stripping provision which uses an adjustable, replaceable blade to the ratcheting handle to retain the connector until the crimp is completed. As an extra, I've been able to complete crimping on 1/4" modular plugs as well as make some additional phone lines. I would highly recommend this product, in fact I would like all my neighbors to purchase one also before mine looses it's way back home.

Solid!! Apr 03, 2011
By Leo I am a computer technician....been one for about 15 years. Tho I've only owned this crimper for about a week, i have used it more than a dozen times. I must say it has a good grip (i have big hands), and it feels solid. I've only crimped cat5e and cat6 cables so far, and doing so is effortless. It costs a little more, but it's definitely worth the price if you want quality!!

Superior Design Nov 15, 2011
By Tool junky It took purchasing a cheap $7 tool to realize that you get what you pay for. The key design feature of this Paladin 1556 is that the section that contains the punch pivots on the handle and is guided by a channel. In this way the punch slides squarely up and down the channel and stays square to the connector, regardless of the angle of the handles. Cheaper models attach the punch to the handle and allow the punch to pivot with respect to the position of the handle. This results in uneven distribution of the force across the pins. At first I thought $40 seemed rather steep for this tool but after observing the options, both on-line and in stores, this price point represents a good value for a tool that is well designed. Under magnification, the pins of the connector look beautiful and are perfectly set against the connector's internal stops, both front and back of each pin as well as across all pins.
Build quality seems high, the design is sound and it works well. 5 stars for delivering beyond expectations.

Great Aug 05, 2009
By Logan ive used a few crimpers for cat5e but this is the best by far. the ability to do RJ-11 is a plus. i dont work with phone line much but its always nice to have it around in one tool. very good price for the amount i use it. very easy to use will crimp every time, quick, easy, and reliable. very solid construction. i personally use paladin for data cable, fluke testers, and SK hand tools. cant go wrong with any.
