good sound, but uncomfortable Jan 20, 2006
By erin herridge I don't think you can beat their sound and isolation for the price, but I find these headphones quite uncomfortable. The cans are small, and while I have a relatively small (female) head and smallish ears, they don't cover my ears completely, pressing on the tops of my ears and squeezing my head.

Portable isolation Oct 31, 2004
By Jason Parrish Bear in mind that my praise for these phones is from a non audiophile perspective. Frankly I can't tell a big difference in sound from various phones especially being as I am listening to mp3s on my ipod not CD quality audio through Hi-Fi equipment. What I am concerned with are issues like comfort, isolation, and convenience. And in those areas the UR-10 delivers.
I recently discovered that I just can't wear canalphones anymore. Hurts my ears. But I need isolation to block out sounds when I am using my iPod. Big circumaural closed cans would do the trick, but they look goofy when used with a portable and the cords are often way to long for mobile use. Enter the UR-10. Its a closed supraaural can in a small size. It doesn't block nearly as much outside noise as a canalphone like the e2c, but does a good job. The cord is a perfect 4 ft and is thick and sturdy feeling. Appearance wise, its sort of goofy looking, but not as bad as a full size can. In short it serves great as a portable isolating headphone for use with an iPod or other mp3 player. And its a fraction of the cost of the Senn PX 200 which is a similar phone I considered. For the non audiophile definitely worth a try at under $10.00.

Great For The Price Dec 05, 2010
By Ben I love these headphones, although I have replaced them a bit. I use the headphones both for work and for walking. I walk a lot, even in inclement weather; and I work a lot, especially in inclement weather. They are nice enough to block out a good deal of background noise and produced good sound, while inexpensive enough that if they get crushed while I am fixing a large piece of equipment (and being a little careless about the headphones) I don't stress.

a little snug around the ears Apr 24, 2010
By Shaun P. Michalak These headphones have pretty good sound, especially for the cost. These headphones are a bit tighter or snugger on the ears and for that reason, may be uncomfortable to some people. If you are sensitive to pressure on the side of your head, then these are not for you. IF that is the case then you may want to try the TDK MP100 headphones. They are a little more in cost, a tiny bit better sound, but have low pressure on the side of the head.
Overall, these headphones may get uncomfortable on your head if used for extended lengths of time. I have used them for just a short time so far my self, and i dont mind then myself. The positive part about the little bit of extra pressure on the sides is that they do not slide off. Also take into consideration that I have a larger head and someone with a smaller head may have a lot less pressure on the ears then I would or do.
The sound on these is pretty good, especially for the price. I have purchased headphones that i have paid much more for that had much worse sound. These have better sound the the last 2 pair of Sony headphones that I purchased up at wall-mart, and the Sony's were about double the price too. For the price, they are definitely worth considering.

love Apr 15, 2010
By SarahG I love these headphones. I found them laying around the house and started using them while I was a freshman in high school. 10 years later I am still using them! They fit comfortably around my ears without being too tight. They have been indespensible for longboarding, as other phones tend to fall off. They can play pretty loud- when I want to hear traffic while biking I put them around my neck and turn up the sound to listen to them like a radio. I throw them in my backpack with other books and things for school and they have held through a ten year beating (I'm absolutely brutal to them). They are just starting to fail- when they are plugged in sometimes the sound doesn't play in one ear or the other. I am going to buy the exact same kind to replace them. I think there are a lot of headphones in this price range (CHEAP) that would never hold together like these.
