3Middle School Advantage 2006  Sep 29, 2005
By Michelle Noberini White
We were less than pleased to find that some of the cd roms(science, reading and vocabulary) only work if you go to a web site and purchase a driver for $15.00. The requirements stated the system was compatable with windows xp, guess it wasn't. Needless to say our children will lose out on the possible full potential of the system. However of the cd roms that do work are very enjoyable for our family to work with.

2Good software but I expected more.  Jul 07, 2006
By B. Black
I was looking for a piece of software that could help my son better prepare for middle school during the summer. One of the things that I expected was that each 'unit' would have some kind of test or quiz so we could track his progress and this title had very little of that. At this point we are using it as 'guided computer time' and looking for another package that can do a better job of tracking and reporting his progress.

3Buy a used copy!  Aug 16, 2006
By Clamdigger
These Encore educational sets, though labeled with the latest year in the edition they're trying to sell at any given moment, are really changed very little from one edition to the next - which explains the phenomena of the "extra" drivers needed for XP which an earlier reviewer noted.

The good news is that these sets are commonly available, used, for five bucks or less in the thrift stores... and they are worth that amount, certainly. So I'd suggest trying an old copy first, then deciding if the latest and greatest revision is worth the upgrade to you.

1The Few Disks That Work Are Good  Sep 07, 2006
By Samuel B. White "Tuttle"
As another reviewer noted, if you can find a disk in this package that works, it's a good deal. At least half of them didn't for me--and I tried them on several PCs, with different OSs. There's a help line you can contact, but they told me the problem was with my PCs, not their disks.

4Middle School Advantage 2006  Jul 28, 2005

Great product. Am having some difficulty loading one of the CD. Contacted the publisher of the product and they are of no help with support. I would recommend this to everyone.
