1DON'T GET THIS  Mar 09, 2010
I always loved finding cheats for games and so i thought purchasing this would make it easier for me. At first I was amazed of how much good cheats there were and ones I couldn't find on gaming sites. All I had to do was start up the Ar Max, go on expert mode, find the game I had, select the cheat codes, press start, then switch it to the game. When I tried it on one game, everything was fine and cheat codes were really fun. But the second time I used it, I noticed the game was acting funny, freezing and sometimes refused to start up at all. I thought I was playing the game too much, so I tried another game and was using other cheats from Ar Max. This time I played, I was enjoying it until the second play through AGAIN it happened. Every time I insert the game, my Playstation 2 would make these struggling noises and it would refuse to read the game disc. I would check the discs which found no scratches then re-insert them, but ended up with the same results. I was so frustrated of the damage the Ar Max did, so now I have two of my games completely ruined.
So don't buy this, it's a rip off, and you will end up with messed up game discs!

5Playstation 2 Action Replay Max  Feb 01, 2010
It has been awhile since I played some of my old games.Knowing where and what to do now with codes on, almost makes it too easy.(almost)Having a 200GB hard drive also makes faster loading time too.(Saved on hard drive)Having fun (65yrs old)

3This version doesn't include media player.  Jan 06, 2010
I read few reviews about this disc and expected it to be able play music and trailers from USB flash drive. Unfortunately the version of AR MAX on this disc is 3.70(build 13080) which don't have media player(it was in earlier versions). I can still use this disc to play DVD's, DVDX application is still there as well as use cheats in games. I connected console to the router and was able to update cheat database, which now includes titles like God of War 2.

4ps2 game enhancement  Jul 13, 2009
This is a must if you download rosters and files from the Internet. You can't read the files directly from a USB drive, so you need this software. Many files are in .max format, so if you want to use Sharkport 2, you have to have the program that converts .max files to Sharkport formatted files. So I just went with buying this to keep from having to convert.

Just have to be very careful, because if you don't follow the instructions exactly when transferring files, you can lock up your ps2 memory card and it will be unusable. So I would back up any important saves before transferring to/from your memory card with the Max Drive, or get an extra ps2 memory card, some old, cheap, used one, and use that for doing transfers, so you don't potentially mess up your good ones.

[These guys should've came out with a better one than this to protect memory cards better, but they haven't.]
