I then bought 3 packs of Canon Photo Paper Plus (afterall it's $.10/page cheaper than the Pro). I printed the same photo with the Plus and I cannot tell the difference in terms of color and clarity! The only difference I saw was, if I look at the photos under the light in a certain angle, I see that the printed surface of the Plus is slightly rougher (less uniform) than that of the Pro. But you really have to look close to see the difference and honestly it doesn't impact the quality of the photo. So my conclusion is the Canon Photo Paper Plus is the way to go! (BTW, I previously bought some generic "glossy photo paper" on eBay and the quality was not accetable w/ ink smearing.)

I recently bought a Canon i-850 printer for my parents which came with 5 sample sheets of Canon Photo Paper Pro. People have given rave reviews of photo paper pro, but I believe this paper is just as good. At 40 cents a sheet, the photo paper pro is pricey, as many have noted, but at 20 cents a sheet, this paper is just right. Having printed photos on both papers, I really cannot tell the difference. They both produce pictures of photo lab quality on the i-850. No complaints whatsoever for the photo paper plus glossy.

Value for money photo prints. Indistinguishable from Canon Photo Paper Pro. I guess the only difference might be this could start to fade in less than 25yrs. Well we'll see - You can always print another copy after 25yrs.

As I write this review, I am using the this Photo paper Plus I bought off Amazon. It is just the perfect paper to compliment your Canon Printer. Personally I have a Canon i860 (just got off Amazon) to replace an older Canon whose printhead died (S900). Once I got my printer, I reprinted almost every photo I have! And what paper did I use - none other than Canon's Photo Paper Plus 4X6 glossy. It has never let me down - and I see absolutely no difference between the glossy and photo paper pro, so why not save $?

This paper is $11.99 + tax in every retail store I visit. I can't believe Amazon can sell it this cheaply! I picked up 4 packs because it's too good of a deal and I know I'll use every last piece of paper.

PROS:
Wonderful prints - looks better than a photo lab in much less time!
Paper is nice and glossy, never had a defective piece.
Colors are true and vivid.
Great price vs. retail.

CONS:
Packaging leaves much to be desired. The outer carton is fine, but - I personally have ruined a few pieces of Canon paper because the adhesive they use to seal their plastic packages attaches to the paper and rips it apart - I carefully remove the plastic packaging and throw it away immediately.


BUY THIS PAPER!!! It's wonderful and inexpensive! Perfect for Canon printers!

I bought a new Canon i560 a month ago to replace my old Lexmark Z52. The printer was primarily just for all-purpose use, not really for photographs. Included in the box were 5 free samples Canon Photo Paper Plus (Glossy). So I decided to give it a try. I was blown-away by the quality of the printer combined with this paper. The quality is abosolutely unreal.

I'm not sure whether the printer contributes more or the paper contributes more, but this is a sweet deal given that this package now costs $7.94 for a 50 pack (10/16/2003)-- that's 16 cents a sheet. Add ink costs, and maybe per print it costs around 25 cents. If you were to order digital prints online--the cheapest I've found was 18 cents a print not even counting shipping. With shipping, for a batch of 27 exp, it runs around 26 cents. Therefore if you have a good printer, this 50-pack is a great deal by the sheer convenience of printing 4X6 and getting them relatively instantly compared to ordering online and waiting a week for them.
